Lisa Ellis is the Executive Director of Artemis Place and was a GAP student herself in the early 1980s. More recently, she was a parent of an Options student (and grandmother of an Options Daycare baby!) A teacher and former administrator, Lisa was most recently a special education consultant to BC First Nations band schools working with Aboriginal students with special needs. “These girls could be our daughters or granddaughters. Given our support now, they can bloom into strong, capable and contributing women. Our girls, and our community, deserve no less.”
Joss Hurtig-Mitchell M.A. Joss joined Artemis Place as a Counsellor in September of 2006. Supporting people to overcome barriers and discover the best in themselves has always been a passion for Joss. She has worked with youth in a variety of settings since 1994. Joss completed a MA in Counselling Psychology with a focus on the Psychology of Women in 2003. She recently relocated from Vancouver where she worked with youth and families struggling with issues related to parenting, addiction, poverty, and abuse. When not at Artemis Place, Joss enjoys dancing, nature, and spending time with her family. Joss is best known for her warm smile and caring perspective.
